Life these days has become very robotic and hectic. In such a tough routine, it becomes difficult to spare time for yourself. Working for 8 to 9 hours in front of a computer and being seated for such long hours really exhausts you out. After all your energy being drained in office and then in crazy traffic, you don’t have enough energy left to cook healthy nutritious meals and go to the gym or workout. But somehow you gotta manage it to keep yourself mentally and physically fit. Even if you don’t have time for the gym or physical workout, you can keep yourself fit by maintaining a healthy diet and brisk walking for 20 minutes every day.

Gaining weight is very easy but reducing and maintaining it is quite a challenge. When we talk about weight loss and healthy diet, there are certain foods you must not eat while dieting. Those foods are:

1- Processed Food

The very first thing that you should exclude straight away from your kitchen is processed food. Processed food includes frozen, refined, canned and ready to eat items. These are high in unhealthy fats, sodium, sugar, contain preservatives and additives and are carcinogenic. Canned fruit and vegetables, frozen snacks, deli meat, jarred sauces, salad dressings and many such ultra-processed foods risk your health. Eat fresh organic food rather than processed food.

2- Fries and Chips

Boiled and whole potatoes are healthy and keep you fill but french fries and potato chips are totally opposite. They are high in calories, carbs and are fattening. A pack of chips might look small which has 12 to 15 chips per small pack contributes to weight gain than any other food. Greasy french fries along with dips like ketchup and mayonnaise which are already high in fat and sugar, add more to weight gain.

3- Sugary and Soda Drinks

Sugary and soda drinks are one of the unhealthiest foods. Sugar-sweetened beverages contain high amounts of sugar, preservatives, additives and calories. A bottle of fruit juice might look healthy but it has very little in common with whole organic fruit. If you really want to lose weight, give up on sugary and soda drinks like canned iced coffee, carbonated drinks, flavoured milk, fruit juice, energy drinks and similar drinks.

4- Bakery items

Bakery items like pastries, bread, cookies, cakes, brownies, biscuits, pies, frozen desserts and other baked items are high in sugar and refined flour. These are very harmful to health and leads to many diseases. When you are hungry and want to munch on a snack never go for bakery items because they are high in calories and not very filling. Have a piece of dark chocolate when you are craving for something sweet.

5- Junk Food

Junk foods are extremely unhealthy and in case of diet, they work like poison. Junk food includes pizza, fries, burgers, fried items, soda drinks, candy, and sweet desserts. You will see deals of Tostitos club mouth-watering burgers or cheesy pizza in your news feed while scrolling it down and you might want to order straight away but this is when you have to control yourself. Refrain from such junk foods. Instead of preferring homemade pizza or burger.

6- Ice Cream

Ice cream is undoubtedly delicious but it is very unhealthy. It is high in calories, loaded with sugar. It has colourings and stabilizers. When you are hungry or craving for some snacks in the evening or during work, eat fruit or nuts or a slice of brown bread with unrefined peanut butter. Be mindful of portions and read labels while doing groceries.
